"If you're looking for an orgasmic trip to heavy-metal heaven, this is it." (The Rolling Stone)
A total of 36 3D cameras pointed at a gigantic stage worth over 15 million dollars: As one of the most successful rock bands in the world (9 Grammy Awards), Metallica really let it rip in 2013 and staged their unique concert qualities in “Metallica - Through The Never 3D”.
The performances are underpinned and held together by an apocalyptic background, or rather “backstage” story about the young Rowdie Trip, who has to prove himself during a concert of his favorite band. His experiences are linked to the songs played from 30 years of the band's history: From early songs like “Creeping Death” to the biggest hits: “Master of Puppets”, “The Memory Remains”, “One”, ‘Battery’ or “Nothing Else Matters”.
The result is an absolutely unique film and sound experience: Louder. Faster. Harder - simply stunning!

It’s not a surprise then that “Metallica: Through the Never,” their 3-D IMAX concert film/apocalyptic Mad Max story, directed by Nimród Antal, is a gigantic spectacle, a virtual-reality experience that is both ridiculous and sublime, sometimes in the same moment. [...]
Metallica’s music is not light. They are not carefree guys. Even their ballads are gloomy. Trip’s struggle to survive in a violent dystopian world is reflective not only of Metallica’s most common themes, but also echoes what the music actually sounds like." (Sheila O'Malley, auf: rogerebert.com)
