Benedikt

Everyday life/Nature, Germany 2021

Benedikt is a farmer in a small village in the Palatinate Forest. He lives from farming and beekeeping. He has not left his home. The documentary follows Benedikt in his working and living environment, interested in the relationship between tools, body and matter, in a sensual, haptic exchange with the world. The work on the film was also influenced by Hartmut Rosa's concept of resonance and the question of what a resonant relationship to the world might look like. Here, the concept of listening plays an important role - listening to the world as a whole - in which voices other than human are also audible. Benedikt is a quiet, documentary portrait that gives the viewers time for their own reflections. The film touches on themes such as life design, loneliness, connection and romance.
